E-bike in Val di Fiemme

With the e-bike in Val di Fiemme you can pass by Unesco panoramas, "pink" climbs, Tibetan bridges, mountain huts, music trees and a 50 km cycle path.

Promoting the use of e-bikes means suggesting a healthy and ecological lifestyle. Val di Fiemme, creator of the FiemmE-motion eco-sustainability project, offers guided e-bike excursions, with an instructor, to introduce less athletic tourists to two wheels and to encourage eco-compatible mobility.

The tours dedicated to e-bikes in Val di Fiemme take you from the cycle path, to the legendary Vecia Ferovia route, up to the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park (available as a GPX track). Furthermore, with the e-mtb it is possible to reach destinations that, until a few years ago, were only within the reach of those who had many kilometers of training in their legs.

The discounts on electric bike rental offered by the Trentino Guest Card are interesting.

In Val di Fiemme, when you pay the tourist tax, you receive in exchange the Trentino Guest Card which offers free buses and shuttles, guided excursions, trekking, spectacular stories in nature, delicious rides, amusement parks, visits to museums and castles of the Trentino and access to sports facilities.

THE CYCLE PATH OF THE DOLOMITES

Fiemme is crossed by the Dolomite cycle path which connects it to the Val di Fassa among meadows, streams and mountain farms. With a difference in altitude of just 650 metres, you can cycle for around 50 km, from Molina di Fiemme to Canazei. The route is very quiet and panoramic and allows you to cycle through the Dolomite landscapes. The route follows the course of the Avisio stream. The cycle path is suitable for families with children and cyclists who want to warm up before tackling a climb up the Dolomite passes. Molina di Fiemme, for example, is located at the foot of the legendary climb of the Giro d'Italia: the Manghen Pass. Road tours also depart from the cycle path which extend up to the four Dolomite passes of the Sellaronda or into the Paneveggio Pale di S. Martino Natural Park, where you can admire the deer reserve.

From mid-June to mid-September, there is the possibility of traveling down the slope, using the Fiemme Fassa Bike Express shuttles which allow you to load your bike. The service is discounted for holders of the Trentino Guest Card.

To complete a cycling holiday, the new Vecia Ferrovia cycle path starts from Castello di Fiemme and takes its name from the route of the train that connected Ora to Val di Fiemme and from the twenty-year-old mountain bike race of the same name which takes place every year from Ora to Molina of Fiemme. The first 5 km, approximately, up to the S. Lugano pass can be traveled on asphalt, while the rest of the route is on dirt road. Crossing the fir and larch forests of the lower Val di Fiemme, after about twenty kilometers you reach Ora to meet the very long Adige cycle path (to be taken in the direction of Trento or towards Bolzano along the Strada del Vino).

THE CYCLE PATH IN THE NATURAL PARK

In the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park there is a cycle path that follows the Travignolo stream up to Pian dei Casoni and Malga Venegia. From mid-June to the end of September, at the Paneveggio Park Visitor Center it is possible to rent mountain bikes or e-mtbs to reach the spectacular Dolomite scenery of Val Venegia, along the new cycle/pedestrian path. Family Special: if you rent more than two traditional pedal bicycles, one is free. Discounts for Trentino Guest Card holders.

AMONG THE BELLAMONTE-PANEVEGGIO HUTS: ASCENT BY CABLE CAR AND FINAL DESCENT ON A SINGLE TRACK

We are in Bellamonte, in a naturalistic paradise, among small huts, majestic fir trees and a natural amphitheater of rare beauty, that of Canvere, where every summer the sublime notes of the Suoni delle Dolomiti concerts are raised. The old mountain bike trail has been improved, so it's worth exploring. We start from Castelir and load the mountain bike onto the new, silent Bellamonte 3.0 cable car. Once you reach the top, you turn right, following the dirt road that takes you into the Paneveggio Natural Park up to the Canvere meadows. Once you arrive at Malga Canvere it is possible to quickly descend along a path. This new and evocative single track takes you back to the departure of the cable car.

Otherwise, continue up to Malga Bocche, admiring a splendid panorama of the Lagorai chain and the Pale di San Martino. You then go down the forest road to the Val dei Buoi area, and then go up to the left towards the return. There is also the possibility of going up towards Forte Dossaccio, a bastion of the First World War, which is worth a short stop.

TOUR BETWEEN TWO TIBETAN BRIDGES, A STREAM AND A LAKE, IN THE MUSIC TREES FOREST

The entire route is immersed in the Violin Forests of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park. Here grow the resonance spruces sought after by luthiers from all over the world for the creation of the soundboards of musical instruments such as the violin. The route is very fascinating, also because it allows you to cross two Tibetan bridges overlooking the waterfalls of the Travignolo stream. The second bridge was built recently. You start from the Visitor Center of the Paneveggio Park, after passing the building you go down to the right following the signs for Forra del Travignolo and cross the first Tibetan bridge with the push bike. The initial part of the path runs along the shores of Lake Fortebuso. Shortly after the dam you cross the second Tibetan bridge (bigger and higher than the previous one) by bike. In the Andreola area there is a short stretch of push bike and immediately after a steep concrete stretch. Then you reach the Sottosassa area with its characteristic cliffs for sport climbing. We finally arrive in Predazzo. To return to Paneveggio you can use public transport (check timetables and connections before leaving).

The surface of the route includes long stretches of dirt road; a minimum amount of skill is required in driving the vehicle. In Ora there is a stop at the Bicigrill, where you can refresh yourself and charge the bicycle batteries; the tour continues for a visit to Lake Caldaro. The return takes place along the same road.

Approximate travel time: 6/7 hours.

Warnings: bring an electric torch when crossing the tunnels, possibly on foot. Put the usual equipment for a mountain trip in your backpack.

Starting from the Lago di Tesero cross-country stadium, home of the Nordic Skiing World Championships, you follow the cycle path towards Predazzo. Along the route you will be able to admire some characteristic views of the valley. The covered wooden Ponte Vecchio in Panchià is valuable. Immediately after Predazzo, the Tour reaches the halfway point at the Stadium with the ski jumping hills, used for the World Championships. Once in Panchià, you cross the old wooden Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in the Val di Fiemme, the only one to survive time and natural events, and after crossing the town center you proceed towards Tesero along asphalt roads secondary roads and dirt paths. From Tesero we continue towards Pian de le Laste, arriving in Varena and Daiano. After Daiano, you can make a short gastronomic stop at the Maso dello Speck; the Solombo tour and the subsequent descent back to Cavalese conclude the Tour.

Approximate travel time: 3/4 hours.

Recommended battery mode: Tour mode. In some sections it will be necessary to use Sport and Tour modes.

Departure from Lago di Tesero with the minibus and electric bikes in the trailer to arrive on the Lavazè plateau. The evocative tour takes place in the magnificent panorama offered by the Corno Nero and Corno Bianco (Schwarzhorn and Weißhorn), among the woods of Passo Oclini and the numerous refreshment points, in the characteristic mountain huts. A long descent, partly on the road and partly on a firebreak path, leads to the arrival at Lago di Tesero.
